As we near the end of the countdown, I want to thank Carrie, who has been so faithful in checking every day and reporting on every place the book covers and numbers were listed. Hope I didn't make it too hard!
THE TEDDY BEAR DANCER is a story near and dear to my heart.
Like many of my books, most of them SF or fantasy, this one started as a fan story. Well, actually TEDDY BEAR started as the outline for a script for the USA Network series, "Matrix," starting Nick Mancuso. I was just starting to put it into script format when I found out from fandom friends "in the know" that the series had been cancelled. (noooooooo!)
Okay, well, these same friends ran several fanzines, one of which featured Stingray, another character
in this talented actor's repertoire, and they decided yeah, they would published Matrix stories along with Stingray. So I wrote up the short story, "The Teddy Bear Dancer," and sent it to them. But I wanted the story to be a book someday.
Then when I was taking all the individual books that make up Tabor Heights and started revising the details to create the town, I decided Tabor Heights needed a gym. Then was born Gold Tone Gym (formerly Silver Flex) run by Vic Thomas (formerly Steven Matrix) and his partner, Rene Ackley (formerly Liz) .... and introduced Vic, Rene, Baxter and Gold Tone during one of the first Tabor novels, COMMON GROUNDS, because Rene starts out as Hannah Blake's roommate. Just like WHEELS, I waited a looooooong time for TEDDY BEAR to become an official Tabor Heights story. But it was a fun wait.
If you're interested in fan fiction -- and I plan to have the fan story, "The Teddy Bear Dancer," posted there by the time this posting is online -- check out Wattpad.com and look up my name. I have another Matrix fan story there -- a crossover with MEN IN BLACK, titled, "Scum of the Universe." I think you'll laugh.
Warmly welcomes readers who love series books and the authors who love to write them.

Day 9 of the 20 Days of Tabor Heights scavenger hunt!
We're more than halfway through the scavenger hunt!
Yikes -- only 17 more shopping days. I'd better get to work....
*wave* to Carrie. Thanks for being so faithful and checking in every new day of the hunt.
Today's book is the last in Year One of Tabor Heights. The 12th book.
Background info: If you compared a map of Tabor Heights to a map of Berea, many of the streets and many of the major buildings, such as the university, the library, city hall, the river, the fire station, are the same. The Mission is an old elementary school, sold by the school district because population changes and demographics made it no longer necessary or useful. The actual physical building in Berea is also an old school building, also no longer used for school. The last time I looked, it was bought by the university. Here in the fictional town of Tabor Heights, it was bought by Tabor Christian Church. The old school, Loomis Elementary, is where I went to school for a few years when my family lived in Berea.

New Tabor Heights, Ohio novel: WHEELS
It's HERE!
WHEELS,
The 4th book of Year 2 of Michelle Levigne's Tabor Heights series, has just been released
by Desert Breeze Publishing, Inc.
Please go over to
the web site and check out ALL the NEW books from DBP.
What's WHEELS about?
The girl next door,
forgiveness, memories, danger, dreams ... Yeah, like that really makes you want
to read it?
Tommy Donnelly,
Tabor's resident comedian, is heading up a Handicap Awareness Walk ... err ...
ROLL in Tabor Heights. Natalie Schaefer, a report for America's Voice, has come
to town to cover the walk, because she's been doing a lot of little side pieces
on handicap accessibility in the magazine. Why has she been doing this? Well,
Natalie was the little girl across the street who adored Tommy when they were
children. She planned on marrying him someday ... then Tommy broke his back and
his family disintegrated and Natalie's father took them to a new town. Should
she tell him who she is, and remind him of their shared past?
In the middle of all
this, a young man Tommy is helping, who has just been released from prison, is
getting some pressure from former associates to return to his old life ... and
to use Tommy to hide their activities.
HERE'S THE FUN PART:
Michelle based this book on
a script she "almost" sold 23 years ago, to "MacGyver." (Well,
they told me they liked it, and if I wanted to rewrite it, they would be glad
to look at it, but by the time I rewrote it they had already chosen the scripts
for the final half-season, so ... It still counts as an "almost,"
doesn't it?) Check out the Desert Breeze Facebook page in a few days, and Michelle's web site, to learn how you can get a copy of the original script that inspired it all.

Kathryn's retreat for relaxation and contemplation is interrupted to take a fugitive to safety, beyond the reach of authorities who may be compromised. The injured woman knows her name is Regina, but not why people were shooting at her. The journey to reach a friend in the FBI is complicated when Kathryn's illness requires frequent stops, permitting Regina's pursuers to nip at their heels.
When the mountains interfere with cell reception, and she can't stop long enough to make a call for help and advice, Kathryn has only her companion dog, her own wits, and prayer to depend on. Deception waits around every corner and Regina's attitude tests Kathryn's sympathy and her faith.

14th Tabor Heights, Ohio novel now available: COOKING UP TROUBLE
Come back to Tabor Heights, Ohio and watch the fun as the paparazzi gather like sharks in a feeding frenzy, trying to get the inside scoop on Max and Tony's wedding.
Max's half-brother, Steve Vincente, has come back to Tabor to get to know his just-discovered sister better. He soon becomes an integral part of Homespun Theater, as well as helping Max navigate the perilous waters of being the daughter of celebrities. When he is cast opposite Audrey in Romeo and Juliet, he discovers that maybe Audrey was another reason to come back to town.
Audrey lives for two things: cooking, and theater. Being asked to help Homespun launch a dinner theater is just up her alley. She doesn't plan on the friendship and partnership that develops between her and Steve, first on stage, then building the dinner theater, then helping deflect the intrusions from the media. Having the paparazzi insinuate she's "auditioning" to join the famous Vincente family through marriage isn't half as troubling as the painful, unwanted memories and visitors from her past who crop up in her life, thanks to the unwanted publicity. She's never told anyone her shameful secrets and wounded past, but she's starting to think maybe keeping secrets is preventing her from finding a happy future.
COOKING UP TROUBLE is the second book in Year Two of the Tabor Heights series, the 14th full-length novel, published by Desert Breeze Publishing.
Check out Michelle Levigne's web site and the Tabor Heights blog for more information, excerpts, and sneak previews!
